Senior Living Community

Therapy Services

Physical performance systems

Sometimes, after hospitalization, a short stay for therapy in a skilled nursing community is the answer. Loch Haven provides physical, occupational, and speech therapies to our residents throughout our entire campus. Physical Performance Systems is our provider for therapy services. Chris Ratliff, RN, Loch Haven's Director of Medicare and Therapy Services, coordinates therapy for our residents.. For those who make Loch Haven their home, our restorative therapy services are designed to maintain the highest level of independence possible for each individual. Whether the goal is to return home or to achieve a level of self-care that a resident is happy with, our team of rehabilitation experts will work to make sure the goal is met. Part A short-term stays are welcome in our Legacy Neighborhoods. Loch Haven provides the perfect setting for a person on the road to recovery.

Services

We Care For You

Taking care of our residents/neighbors is the reason we are here! We want to make sure each and every resident is given the best care possible. A care plan to meet the specific and unique needs of each person is designed as soon as a person moves into their neighborhood. Everyone is involved in this plan; the resident, their family and physician, their Neighborhood Coordinator, Dining Service, Activities, Therapy, and Social Service personnel.

At Loch Haven, the needs of the resident are taken care of right here. We are a small, friendly community with everything a person could need. Here are just a few of the services that we offer:

  • Activities
  • Dining Services
  • Housekeeping
  • Insurance Assistance
  • Personal Laundry Service
  • Maintenance
  • Missouri Telehealth
  • Resident’s Council
  • Salon/Barber Services
  • Social Work
  • Speech & Language Pathology
  • Therapy/Rehabilitation
  • Transportation
  • Wellness Program

Financial Assistance

Financing Long Term Care

  • Medicare: Many of our residents come to Loch Haven under the Medicare Part A program. This requires that the resident has had a three-night hospital stay in the last 30 days and still be in need of skilled nursing or therapy services. If qualified for this Medicare will pay the full amount for the first twenty days. Days 21 to 100 are paid in part by Medicare. If a resident has a Medicare Supplement insurance policy, it will usually cover the part not paid by Medicare. Under the Medicare program the resident is reevaluated on the 5th, 14th, 30th, 60th, and 90th days to determine eligibility for continued coverage.
  • Medicaid: Medicaid is another program available to assist residents in paying the cost of nursing home care. There are financial need requirements that must be met to be eligible for this program. We can give you some information regarding this. Also, each county in Missouri has a Division of Family Services Office that can provide you with complete information. One important change in recent years is the "division of assets" provision. This is a great help in situations where one spouse requires nursing home care and the other continues to live in the community. Be sure to ask us about it.
  • Private Payments: Private payment is common in situations where an individual has adequate financial resources. Many people also have long term care insurance policies that may help with this, too. All self-paying residents pay 30 days in advance on the day of admission. Refunds are pro-rated to the day of discharge.
  • Bed Holds and Re-Admission Policy: The goal of Loch Haven is to re-admit, after hospitalization, all residents who meet admission guidelines. To assure the assigned previous room is held for you, if the resident room type (i.e. private, suite, semi-private) has occupancy of 90% or higher, it is necessary to pay 75% of the daily base rate to hold the room.  If you choose not to reserve the bed, the responsible party must notify the Social Services Department or Business Office within 72 hours of the discharge. Loch Haven will admit the resident to the first available appropriate bed if the bed has not been held. This DOES NOT apply to the Loch Haven Apartments. If the resident or responsible party elects to reserve (hold) a bed during their absence from the Apartments (i.e. hospitalization), the charge shall be 100% of the daily rate.
  • Residents pending approval for funding by Medicaid (Title XIX) will pay Loch Haven and Social Security and/or pension income minus $30 for resident's personal use. All payments are due on a monthly basis. A service charge may be added to delinquent accounts.
  • Resident's refunds are mailed within 30 days of discharge (with Medicaid and Medicare, this usually takes between 60 and 90 days.
  • Medical supplies and personal care items will be billed each month. You may inquire at the Business Office for a copy of all such charges.
